20 year old singer-songwriter, Holly Humberstone, has already shown a breathtaking start to 2020 releasing two top singles that are bound for glory. The "Deep End" singer from Grantham has come a long way, since uploading demos to Soundcloud and BBC Introducing, having now performed on the BBC Introducing stage at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival. Since then Holly has managed to gain the attention of "Someone You loved" singer Lewis Capaldi having supported him on the European and London leg of his tour for his debut album "Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent."
Having seen the honest and raw singer perform on the 22nd October in 2019, supporting Plested at his headline show at Omeara London, where she played her "Drop Dead" tunes such as recently released "Falling Asleep At The Wheel", it was clear that Holly was destined for success. The Emotion put in to her songs and the rawness of her tone just showed how not only was she performing for herself but she was also performing for others. The crowd, including myself, mesmerised by every note sung and every chord played. Whether she was strumming her guitar or hitting every pure note on her keyboard, Humberstone managed to captivate the audience with her inflamed songs, not only setting an amazing opening for Plested to come on to but creating a foundation for herself to expand her fanbase and reach the level of fame she truly deserves.
On January 31st 2020, the Damien Rice inspired singer, released her first single titled "Deep End" where the singer admirably and unknowingly announced to the world that 2020 was going to be her year. Humberstone said in her recent interview with "Beyond The Stage Magazine" that she connects to the most personal music with very detailed and honest lyrics as she believes it is a way to allow people to identify with a song. If she hadn't already done so with "Deep End" being a way to allow Holly to tell people close to her that she is there and always will be there, but also to allow her listeners to know that if they're struggling then they're not alone and people should talk about their feelings more, with the release of her second single she certainly did. On March 19th, the honest pop singer, released "Falling Asleep At The Wheel" and again Humberstone did not disappoint. The melancholy song about the losing of momentum in a relationship is something that in the modern day world most people can relate to. With the song being about a relationship falling apart and wanting to give up on someone, the singer manages to cover all aspects of losing interest in a relationship with harsh hitting lyrics such as "I'm just pretending you have my attention."
With the singer scheduled to release a debut album, alongside two headline shows at Omeara in London due to the first one selling out so quickly, Holly is definitely the one to watch this year. With her Lorde and Florence And The Machine vibes, Holly Humberstone is set for musical stardom.
